Ask Rusty: Georgia's pursuit elite offensive talent in 2026
The wheel never stops spinning in College Football and recruiting, but it does slow down. We’re currently experiencing the slow time of year. It’s the dead period and coaches can’t be out on the road. Everything that players are doing is behind closed doors. That’s definitely the case at Georgia where those early-morning Sanford Stadium runs have begun.
The Bulldogs will be working hard behind the scenes for the next few weeks before enjoying spring break. They’ll get the first week of March to recharge and then it’s five weeks of spring drills. Georgia will have twelve practices and three scrimmages, including G-Day over a month from now.
It will also be a time for the Bulldogs to recruit. They’ll have a number of major targets on campus during spring drills. Prospects want to see practice and Georgia, based on its experience under Kirby Smart, believes that seeing a practice or a workout is a recruiting pitch.
The Bulldogs are after some of the best of the best in the 2026 class and that includes the nation’s No. 1 quarterback in Jared Curtis (Nashville Christian; Nashville, Tenn). It also includes some of the top offensive linemen in the country like Jackson Cantwell (Nixa; Nixa, Mo.) and Immanuel Iheanacho (Georgetown Prep; Baltimore, Md.)

ASK Rusty: February 10, 2025
Q: Who is an underrated prospect that you look forward to seeing in person?
A: Earnest Rankins (Southwest Dekalb defensive lineman) for me. See him soon.
Q: Which WR leads the team in yards next year?
A: I think (Zachariah) Branch will get the most touches, just my gut feeling. I think (Noah) Thomas could lead in TD’s.
