Georgia beefed up its tight end room on Friday with the addition Ben Yurosek, a fifth-year senior out of Stanford with two years to play one. Yurosek was considering a number of other programs, including Texas, but the Bulldogs got him on campus for a visit, took a pretty sizable lead in his recruitment, and got him in the fold.
Yurosek will graduate from Stanford in May and will then make his way to Athens to begin the final season of his college football career. Georgia has recruited the tight end position as well as anyone the past few years but a quick look at Yurosek’s Stanford highlights show why the Bulldogs pursued.
He’s a versatile playmaker who does some of the same things Brock Bowers did in a UGA uniform. Yurosek stretches the field, works the intermediate range, and is a factor in the RPO game. He is also a catch-and-run guy and the Cardinal even found ways to get him the ball with handoffs.

Yurosek was selected honored as an All-PAC 12 performer after both the 2021 and 2022 seasons. While he ended up missing half of his final season in Palo Alto with injury, Yurosek totaled 1,342 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 35 career games on 108 catches. He also added 114 yards on 14 rushing attempts.
Yurosek is the seventh transfer portal addition for Georgia this offseason after the Bulldogs went to the portal for help on both sides of the ball. Vanderbilt wide receiver London Humphreys was the first to commit, starting a run that saw South Carolina defensive lineman Xzavier McLeod, Miami wide receiver Colbie Young and Florida running back Trevor Etienne join shortly after. USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III and Alabama defensive back Jake Pope also came on board.
