Chad Lindberg enters name into transfer portal
Georgia offensive lineman Chad Lindberg time at UGA appears to be up. After four seasons with the team, the League City, Texas native has entered the transfer portal as a graduate and will start looking for a new home before spring practice begins for the Bulldogs.
Lindberg, listed at 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, arrived in Athens in 2020 and spent that season on the sideline entirely. He then saw action in just four games in 2021, a season that could serve as a redshirt year to save eligibility on top of the 2020 COVID season, leaving him with up to two years possibility remaining.
When Lindberg signed, he was considered one of the top prospects in the country. Ranked No. 189 overall and 22nd among offensive tackles in the country per the On3 Consensus, Lindberg was as high as a top-75 prospect according to some. He chose Georgia over the likes of LSU, USC, Texas and Texas A&M among the over three-dozen offers he received and was a part of the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. Lindberg was both an Under Armour All-American and a participant in the Polynesian Bowl.
This past season, Lindberg played in 12 games for Georgia, all as a reserve. He previously had seen time on the field in six of 15 in 2022 and the four mentioned in 2021.
