Channing Tindall signs contract with Miami Dolphins
Former Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall is officially a Miami Dolphin after signing his rookie contract with the team on Wednesday. A third-round selection taken 102nd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Tindall’s deal is reportedly worth about $5 million over four years with a $849,000 signing bonus.
Tindall, a native of Columbia, S.C., finished the season tied for third on the team in tackles with 67 stops. He was named to the AP All-SEC Second-Team for a season that included multiple career-best performances. Against Tennessee, Tindall took down Volunteer quarterback Hendon Hooker three times and finished the game with eight total tackles, both career highs. He also had eight tackles in the National Championship Game to match his best performance, adding a career-high five quarterback pressures as well in the win over the Crimson Tide.
Overall, his numbers from his senior season alone were almost as good as the rest of his career combined with more tackles in 2021 than the previous three years added up and just 1.0 sack and 1.0 tackle for loss worse in 20 fewer games.
Tindall also performed well at the NFL Combine, coming in at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds with 32.875 inch arms and 10.625 inch hands. He ran a 4.47 40-yard dash time with a 42-inch vertical jump and a 129-inch broad jump, earning a 6.24 rating according to NFL Next Gen Stats which puts him in the category of “Will Eventually Be Average Starter.”
