Christen Miller changes course, no longer plans to enter transfer portal
Just over 12 hours after announcing plans to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday afternoon, Georgia defensive lineman Christen Miller appears to have had a change of heart. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, the third-year defensive lineman no longer plans to leave Athens after all.
“I have unfinished business with my brothers. I’m 100 percent locked in. Go Dawgs,” Miller told Fawcett.
“Gotta finish what I started with my bruddas,” he added in a tweet of his own.
Miller, who has spent two season in Athens with his first acting as a redshirt year, has three years of eligibility remaining. The Ellenwood, Ga. native saw action in 13 contests last season and made 14 tackles including nine solo stops. He had four tackles for loss with his lone sack of the season coming versus Georgia Tech followed the next week by another tackle for loss against Alabama. Those two games, along with the first two of the season against UT Martin and Ball State, saw Miller record multiple tackles. He would miss the Orange Bowl win over Florida State due to a meniscus injury. Miller played in four games as a freshman in 2022, recording a quarterback hurry against Samford.
An expected to be a key contributor to Georgia’s defensive line efforts, his decision to stay certainly comes as a welcomed one. Alongside Miller up front are the likes of Nazir Stackhouse and Warren Brinson, plus others including former five-star Jordan Hall, South Carolina transfer Xzavier McLeod, 6-foot-5, 350-pound big man Jamaal Jarrett and a total of five freshmen from the Class of 2024 on the defensive line.

Miller’s not the first Georgia player to flirt with the portal either. This offseason alone, both Julian Humphrey and Daniel Harris announced plans to enter before eventually walking their decisions back. Amarius Mims previously did the same, actually entering and visiting elsewhere before opting to withdraw his name.
Georgia has not gone without loses to the transfer portal however, seeing a total of 21 scholarship players depart this offseason including two since the end of spring practice. A full list of former Bulldog players, and their future destinations, can be found below…
