Christen Miller
Georgia defensive lineman Christen Miller (52) arrives with the team before the start of the G-Day spring football game in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia’s Christen Miller exited Saturday’s win over UMass early with an upper body injury. The third-year defensive lineman was quickly declared out as trainers tended to his right arm. It was called a shoulder injury in the announcement given in the UGA press box, but afterwards, Kirby Smart shared what he knew.

“Don’t. Something with his shoulder,” Smart said when asked if he had an update. “Not real sure what. I think it dislocated and they put it back in but I’m not sure.”

Miller, who previously had a minor knee injury this season but didn’t miss any time, has played a big part in Georgia’s defensive success, helping early on especially as a healthy body along the defensive line. He tallied eight stops in the first three games including two for loss and entered Saturday with 21 tackles to his name.

Miller is far from the first Georgia player to deal with an injury this season, and he won’t be the only Bulldog in the training room this week. Running back Trevor Etienne (ribs), wide receiver Dillon Bell (ankle), offensive lineman Earnest Greene (shoulder) and others are also banged up and trying to work their way back onto the field.
