The top-ranked linebacker in the class of 2024, Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge Justin Williams, comes off the board tonight.

Williams is the No. 9 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings for the class of 2024. Georgia and Oregon will be on the table when the 6-foot-2, 210-pound ‘Mike’ linebacker decides on his college football future.

Williams’ Oak Ridge teammate, a four-star defensive lineman Joseph Jonae-Ajonye, is already committed to the Bulldogs. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Georiga as the team to beat for Williams going into commitment day.

The Bulldogs have an 86.9 percent chance of landing the landing the five-star linebacker according to RPM. Williams was on campus twice this summer.

He took an official visit to Georgia on June 23. Williams also took an unofficial visit to Georgia back on May 20.

When and where for Justin Williams’ announcement

Time: Approximately 8 p.m. eastern

Finalists: Georgia and Oregon

Where: Williams will announce his decision on On3’s YouTube channel on Monday. Here:https://www.youtube.com/@On3sports

What did he say about Georgia?

Georgia has been a bit of a new contender in Williams’ recruitment. Oregon has been a mainstay for quite some time in Williams’ recruitment.

He has built a strong relationship with the Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning. Georgia’s recent success and national championship pedigree as of late have Williams’ attention. Williams can feel the buy-in from everyone involved in Georgia’s culture.

“The desire to be great is something that stands out there,” he said to On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons. “There’s a lot of great programs out there, but not everybody wants to be on the train. At Georgia, everybody is on board and wants to go win and built a great legacy. And they keep doing it every year.”

Williams’ first visit back in May built a lot of trust between him and the Bulldogs.

“The food, the coaches, how they vibe out with me, to be honest with you,” Williams told On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman back on May 15.

“I trust them,” he continued. “It’s all about the trust aspect. I feel like they wouldn’t do me wrong. The coaches at Georgia and I talk a lot and I feel good about them.”

The big picture for Georgia

A pledge from Williams would only extend a lead for the Bulldogs in the 2024 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Georiga currently leads Ohio State for the No. 1 overall class.

Williams would be the second linebacker to commit to Georgia in the cycle should he choose the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have four-star Demarcus Riddick committed at the moment.

Riddick is expected to announce a final decision on July 26. DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell recently provided the latest intel on that recruitment

Georgia is not done at the linebacker position regardless of what happens with Williams later today. RPM has them trending for Fairfax (Va.) four-star Kris Jones. The Bulldogs have also been pushing for Salem (Va.) four-star Chris Cole hard as of late.

The Bulldogs landed three four-star linebacker prospects in the class of 2023.
