Commitment Day Primer: 4-star WR CJ Wiley set to decide
Milton (Ga.) four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley is the next domino to fall on the national recruiting board. The No. 43 overall prospect in On3 Rankings is set to choose between Georgia, Florida State and LSU.
Wiley has taken official visits to all three schools this summer ahead of his decision. Georgia has been a major contender throughout the process.
The Bulldogs have gotten the in-state playmaker on campus eight times in his recruitment. LSU has made a late charge. Wiley’s mother and father both attended LSU. His father Chuck Wiley was a defensive lineman for the Tigers.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors the in-state program heading into Wiley’s decision. The Bulldogs have an 82.3 percent chance of landing the four-star wideout.
The who, when and where for CJ Wiley’s commitment
The Finalist: Georgia, Florida State, LSU
When: Approximately 4 p.m.
What has he said about Georgia
Wiley has seen a lot of Georgia. He’s spoken highly of Georgia from the start. Georgia has made him a major priority. His relationship with Georgia wide receiver coach James Coley has been a major one as of late.
“He said he’s happy to recruit me,” Wiley said of Coley in February. “He’s been recruiting me hard at other places and said he’s still going to keep recruiting me hard.”
Georgia was also one of the programs that got in early on Wiley. He burst onto the scene with a productive junior season.

Wiley has kept the Bulldogs’ early interest in mind throughout the process.
“I’m going to remember that a lot because once you put the hard work in and you get the results that you want at the end of the day,” Wiley said back on Feb. 27.
The big picture for Georgia
Georgia could lose a lot of key figures in the wide receiver room in the coming years. The Bulldogs will have a veteran-ladened group in 2024 but those names will move on at some point.
That has made the 2025 class an important one. Georgia already has two wide receivers committed in the class of 2025 in Talyn Taylor and Thomas Blackshear.
Adding Wiley would add another dimension to a growing group of explosive playmakers. Wiley also has speed and size to be a down-the-field threat.
