Commitment Day Primer: 4-star WR Travis Smith set to decide
Decision day has arrived for Atlanta (Ga.) four-star wide receiver Travis Smith. Smith will choose between Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee on Saturday evening at Westlake High School.
Smith has taken official visits to Georgia (May 31), Alabama (June 14) and Tennessee (June 21). The Bulldogs offered Smith in the spring of last year leading into his junior year.
Smith has been high on the radar for the Bulldogs for some time since that offer came. Then wide receiver coach Bryan McClendon made a stop to watch Smith face off with Carrollton late last football season.
McClendon has since moved on to the NFL to coach wide receivers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. James Coley has taken his place and has continued to the pursuit of Smith.
Georgia has four wide receivers committed in the class of 2025 at the moment.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors Tennessee on the commitment day. The Volunteers have a 54.3 percent chance of landing the four star wideout.

What has he said about Georgia?
Smith has said a lot of positive things about Georgia along the journey to commitment day. He was most recently thinking of Georgia just after his official visit.
The official visit allowed Smith to look at the campus more deeply than he had in his other five visits to Athens.
“It was really was the outside of football things, the campus was beautiful, they took us around and I got to see the dorms and all that stuff outside of football,” Smith said to DawgsHQ back on June 13. “All of that stuff is looking great.”

Smith’s video with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart made the rounds on social media.
“It meant a lot, he’s all about having fun, the same as me,” Smith said. “We always get a good vibe with each other and there’s good communication. We did it and it was all fun and games and we talked for a little bit afterward. It was cool.”
The big picture for Georgia
Georgia has four commits on board already in the class. It remains unclear how many more players Georgia will look to add to the group.
Georgia missed on four-star CJ Wiley. He committed to Florida State last month but left the door open on his recruitment.
Smith as well as four-star Derek Meadows remain on the docket as targets with a decision to make. Meadows will announce later this month.
Georgia is continuing to look for playmakers. They could lose as many as six key pieces of their receiving corp after 2024.
The 2025 cycle has been an important one from the start.
