Commitment Day Primer: 5-star DL Justus Terry to decide
Manchester (Ga.) five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry has the attention of the recruiting world. He will make his college declaration on Friday at noon.
Terry has already been committed to Georgia once. He flipped to USC back on March 23. Terry spent two months committed to the Trojans before reopening his recruitment.
He quickly scheduled official visits to Georgia (May 31), Miami (June 7), Florida State (June 14) and Alabama (June 21).
Terry also took an official visit to Auburn on Nov. 22. The five-star also took an official visit to Texas this fall. Georgia has been heavily involved and considered the team to beat to land the No. 9 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia a 95.8% chance of landing Terry ahead of his commitment.

What did he say about Georgia?
Terry has always felt at home at Georgia. That didn’t even change once he committed to USC. Terry has spoken highly of Georgia every chance he’s gotten.
They’ve also made him feel like family. These two quotes immediately stand out among his many on-record thoughts of the Bulldogs.
“They sit at the top, I’m not going to lie. It’s Alabama, Georgia and Florida State are the ones that are me the hardest right now and sitting at the top.” Aug. 6

“What separates them is that it is home,” Terry said. “You know, the distance. It’s just my home state. I mean, wanting to play for them since, you know, little one growing up. And it’s just I’ve always been a hometown guy, so I think that’s what’s separated them from almost of everybody. Every school is a good school. Every school has certain things. It just comes down to it who you want to be coached by. The coaching staff is a great coaching staff at Georgia.” June 7.
Big picture
Georgia landed five-star Elijah Griffin in the class of 2025 already. The Bulldogs will be looking for impact players in the trenches.
Terry would be another one of those. Griffin can play the three-technique and five-technique. Terry can do a little bit of everything as well. He’d likely slot into the role that Mykel Williams will eventually vacate.
He and Griffin would provide Georgia with immediate impact and long-term impact potential akin to the the impact Travon Walker and Jalen Carter and the heroes of yesteryear.
Terry is also considered one of the crown jewels of the 2025 class. Landing him has been priority one A or one B for Georgia this cycle.
