Georgia knows its opponents for the 2024 football season, and now, the Bulldogs have a couple of dates set too. According to ESPN’s Chris Low, Georgia will take on both Alabama and Texas in the first half of its season. The trip to Tuscaloosa is set for September 28th while Austin is on the calendar for October 19th.

The two games are among the 12 “notable 2024 SEC matchups” Low has listed in story released Monday night. Others are included in the actual article.

Georgia last made the trip to Tuscaloosa during the 2020 COVID season, falling to the eventual National Championship winning Crimson Tide 41-24 after leading at halftime. The last trip to Austin came back in 1958 – their last regular season meeting – where Texas won 13-8.

Of course, it’s the first season of a new era in the SEC as Texas and Oklahoma join the league. Divisions also go away, and the SEC Championship Game teams will be determined instead by standings of all 16 teams.

On top of the trips to Tuscaloosa and Austin, Georgia will also travel to Oxford, Miss. (Ole Miss) and Lexington, Kent. (Kentucky) for its other two road games. Homes games in the SEC are set to be played against Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee while the annual rivalry game versus Florida – which counts against Georgia’s home-game total – will take place in Jacksonville. Dates are to be determined on those six games with the league planning to announce the complete schedule at some point in December.

Georgia also has its non-conference slate set for 2024 with a marquee matchup to open things on August 31st against Clemson. Tennessee Tech (September 7th), UMass (November 23rd) and Georgia Tech (November 30th) are also on the schedule.

Georgia fans won’t have to wait long to see the Bulldogs take on Alabama. That next meeting will take place this Saturday in the SEC Championship Game. Kickoff time for the top-10 showdown with College Football Playoff implications is set for 4:00 p.m. ET on CBS. According to VegasInsider, Georgia currently comes in as a 5.5-point favorite.
