WATCH: David Pollack offers classy response to lay off at ESPN
Georgia football legend and long-time College Game Day personality David Pollack saw his run at ESPN end on Friday. He, like several others, was laid off by the network in what appears to a decision to trim the budget and potentially move in a different direction.
Pollack had a message for everyone once the news came out and, as is usually the case, the three-time All American was both classy and positive.
“What is up everybody? Yeah, I think a lot of the news came out today and a lot of y’all heard that I won’t be brought back to College Game Day next year or to ESPN and I just wanted to say thank you to so many people,” Pollack said via the video released on Twitter. I just appreciate everybody along the journey, 12, 13 years ago ESPN taking a chance on me, all of the people I got to work with. Man I got to work with so many great people and do so many things. That was so awesome for so many years and I’m just very thankful for it.”

Oregon coach getting NFL buzz
I don’t know what’s next. I have no clue what’s next in my life but one thing that God has shown me all along the way is that he is for me. He’s not against me. (In the) NFL I broke my neck, career is over, I find T.V. I found coaching the past couple of years. I found peaking the past couple of years so I know God’s got something amazing for me. I don’t know what it’s going to be but thank you to all my teammates and all the people who played a part in it and all of you who watched and cheered me on. I don’t know what’s next but it’s going to be amazing.”
Other big names were cut by the network. The group includes huge names Jalen Rose, Jeff Van Gundy, Max Kellerman, and ESPN legend Suzy Kolber. College Game Day host Rece Davis was also quick to post his thoughts on Pollack’s release.
