The Bulldogs continue to consistently be acknowledged for strong performances on the field, and after a big win to open the SEC slate, a couple of Dawgs have been honored again.

Junior outside linebacker Nolan Smith was named the SEC Defensive Player of the week for his performance against the Gamecocks.

That came as little surprise after his stellar showing on Saturday, where he was responsible for 8 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and safety he split with defensive tackle Jordan Davis.

He becomes the second Bulldog to garner the award, joining safety Chris Smith, who won it in week 1.

Joining Smith in SEC honors this week was wideout Adonai β€˜AD’ Mitchell, who was named Freshman of the Week for the conference.

Mitchell posted four receptions on five targets, 77 yards, and a touchdown on Saturday night.
