It’s the final week of the regular season – a sad reality we’re all faced with as football season is quickly coming to a close. Georgia finds itself in the thick of things for a spot in the College Football Playoffs at 11-0 and ranked No. 1 in the nation. But the Bulldogs aren’t the only one with exciting games that await this weekend. The DawgsHQ staff shares our predictions below for Georgia-Georgia Tech as well as a few of the country’s top games.

*** Georgia covered its 10-point spread last week against Tennessee. That was correctly prediction by the entire DawgsHQ staff. This week, it’s a larger line for the Bulldogs as UGA comes in at -24 for the rivalry game against Georgia Tech. ***

Jeremy Johnson (27-33-4)

Georgia gets a few things sharpened going into championship season. The Bulldogs look to their run game to make a statement. Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton both have big days, but not big enough for the cover. (Georgia 41, Georgia Tech 21)

Rusty Mansell

Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is my MVP, and you’d know that if you read Rusty’s Ramblings this morning. He had himself a big one last Saturday in Knoxville against Tennessee (career-high seven catches, 91 yards, two touchdowns) and I think he follows it up with a second straight strong showing this Saturday. A banged up receiver room means more opportunities for a proven veteran like Rosemy-Jacksaint. (Georgia 41, Georgia Tech 13)

Jake Reuse (29-31-4)

It’s not hard for me to believe this one could be done by halftime. Georgia Tech is much improved under Brent Key, but they’re not yet world-beaters. Look for Georgia to do what it did against Tennessee — get up a couple scores and just lock it down and suffocate the opponent. Normally, I’d think that would prevent the cover, but I think Georgia backs into this one without being able to help it. Gap is too wide between these squads. (Georgia 48, Georgia Tech 10)

Jake Rowe (29-31-4)

Georgia is just better. Tech has done some good things on offense of late. Haynes King is playing well and the Yellow Jackets are running the ball effectively. The defense, however, is struggling and that’s especially true when it comes to defending against the pass. Georgia is just too good offensively for Tech to keep it in check. (Georgia 51 – Georgia Tech 20)

Palmer Thombs (38-22-4)

Georgia is going to keep it pretty vanilla here with Alabama awaiting in the SEC Championship Game. The Crimson Tide have seen what they’ve seen out of Georgia, and there won’t be anything new shown on Saturday. Injuries have been a topic of discussion this week in Athens, and I doubt we’re going to see those players in action against Tech.

All that being said, the Bulldogs are the more talented team and should be able to win this one even without them. Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton combine for 150+ but are in and out of there as quickly as possible. Same goes for Carson Beck and other play makers. Meanwhile, on defense, I’m thinking we’re going to see a turnover or two from a Yellow Jacket offense that’s going to take chances. (Georgia 35, Georgia Tech 14)
