Decision Day Primer: 5-star Demarcus Riddick set to decide
Clanton (Ala.) Chilton County four-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick is set to announce his ‘final decision’ on Wednesday.
Riddick committed to Georgia back on Nov. 4, 2022. The No. 31 overall prospect in the On3 Industry rankings for the class of 2024 has been on campus three times. He took an official visit to Georgia back on June 2.
Riddick has also taken official visits to Auburn (June 9) and Alabama (June 16). Lately, Riddick has seen buzz with in-state Auburn as well as Alabama.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Auburn as the favorite to flip the four-star linebacker from the Bulldogs.
The Tigers have a 51.2 percent chance of landing the four-star linebacker according to RPM. Riddick told On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, things have changed a bit in his recruitment since he committed to Georgia late last year. That prompted him to take another look and entertain other programs in his recruitment.

What did he said about Georgia?
Georgia was one of Riddick’s dream schools growing up. They won him over with culture, pedigree and a strong fit for Kirby Smart’s defense.
“I always wanted to go to Georgia,” Riddick told On3 back on Nov. 4. “I grew up a Georgia fan, so when I got the offer, I knew it was a school I loved. Once I got to know the coaches, took some visits there and knew I felt at home, it was really over.”

Riddick attended Georgia’s win over Oregon in Mercedes-Benz Stadium at the start of last season.
The Bulldogs made an impression on Riddick that day as well as his mother.
“I was impressed by everything that went on out there on the field today,” Riddick said to DawgsHQ back in September of last year. “Georgia did not let Oregon score. They played like they were supposed to. They were also physical. There weren’t many mistakes…It was my mom’s first visit. I wanted to get her out there. It’s like this with all of my top five. I’m a huge fan of Georgia…I just wanted to see them play again.”
The big picture for Georgia
Georgia landed the commitment of five-star linebacker Justin Williams on Monday. Georgia is also after a duo of blue-chip linebackers Chris Cole and Kris Jones.
The Georgia linebacking corp is stacked. The 2023 class provided three signees. Riddick would be a welcomed addition if he signed in Athens.
The inside linebacker position appears to be a position of power for the back-to-back national champions.
