Devonte Wyatt loves speaking with the media.

Like, loves it.

He got a chance to talk to reporters at the NFL Combine after a Georgia football career in which he rarely had press availabilities.

Wyatt ate the moment up. He already impressed at Reese’s Senior Bowl week before exiting early with an ankle injury.

Now, Devonte Wyatt is on to preparing for his NFL Combine and Georgia Pro Day workouts, and the NFL Draft.

Here are some of his highlights from the session:

On what he wants to show scouts at the NFL Combine:

“I’m not doing bench (at the NFL Combine), I’m saving bench for Pro Day. But definitely everything else, I’m doing. I’m just trying to show them, ‘He can move. This guy right here is crazy. I want their eyes to be like this 😳.'”

Devonte Wyatt on success at the Senior Bowl:

“It’s amazing. It’s a blessing that came true. Well it ain’t come true yet because I ain’t got drafted yet. But if I do (go in the first round) it will definitely be a blessing that came true, but at the same time, you gotta keep your head down until that happens.”

Devonte Wyatt on confidence speaking to the media:

“It comes over time, man. I’m just now kind of getting used to doing media, but you just got to go in there with the confidence. You can’t go in there scared. You can’t go in there hesitant because you can go in there and say something you don’t mean.

Did he feel like he was in Jordan Davis’s shadow?

“I don’t even feel like ‘the other guy.’ I felt like the family. I felt like a brother. Nobody ever acted like they was bigger than the other person. We all was like balanced together. We all came together. That’s one thing I loved about my boy Jordan. He always kept me up. I kept him up. We always pushed each other.”

On what he would want his NFL Combine scouting report to say

“If I was writing about myself, I’d be like, ‘This guy’s amazing. He’s the best guy I ever met.’ If that was me, I’d definitely write, ‘I love this guy. He’s got great personality. He can move, and he’s definitely going to be a great player in the NFL.'”

On if he could play running back in the NFL

“Easily. Easily. They put me back there I’d look like Derrick Henry.”

On why he didn’t speak to the media more at Georgia

“Preparation, man. We were prepping for this moment right here. I wasn’t comfortable doing media, so I just had to ease my way into it. But that’s why I love Georgia, because they show you the right way to do the right things. I really appreciate Kirby – Coach Smart and the whole UGA nation.”
