ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia will not have Dillon Bell the rest of the way against Tennessee. He has been officially ruled out for the remainder of the game with an ankle/shin injury. The Bulldogs now lead the Vols 24-7 in the third quarter. Bell has lined up at both running back and wide receiver for the Bulldogs.

After a second-quarter carry deep inside the Georgia red zone, Bell came up limping with a low-leg injury. The Bulldogs went on to score and take a 14-10 lead. The Texas native has since rejoined the team on the sideline but he is listed as “out for now” according to the ESPN telecast.

According to DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson, Bell headed to the locker room, putting some, but not a lot, of pressure on that ankle. Bell three touches on the day and seven targets in the passing game. His run was wiped out by an offsides penalty by Tennessee and he has 14 total yards. He came into the game with 33 catches for 393 yards and four touchdowns on the season. Bell also has seven carries for 104 yards and a score.

The Bulldogs fell behind 10-0 to Tennessee on Saturday but they have since roared back. Georgia has touchdown drives of 75 and 85 yards on each of its last two possessions.

After taking a 14-10 lead, Georgia gave up a lengthy touchdown with Tennessee doing a lot of damage on the ground. That put the Vols up 17-14. Georgia got it back with a little under two minutes in the half and put together a drive that allowed Peyton Woodring to tie it at 17 entering the half.

Georgia got a stop on its opening possession of the second half and the Bulldogs went on an 87-yard march that used 12 plays. It ended with Carson Beck running it in from 10 yards out to stake the Bulldogs to a 24-17 win.
