Five-star Georgia QB pledge Dylan Raiola transfers to Buford High School
The nation’s No. 1 overall prospect is now much closer to the program where he will play his college ball. Five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola is making the move from Arizona to the Peach State. He is enrolled at Buford High School according to DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell.
Raiola committed to Georgia a little over a month ago. He had previously been committed to Ohio State but reopened his recruitment late last season. Raiola picked UGA over the likes of USC and Nebraska.
The 6-foot-3 220-pound five-star shined last week at the Elite11 finals, finishing second overall after a so-so first day. It earned him a superlative from On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power.
“Dylan Raiola made a strong push for the On3 MVP with two impressive performances on Day 2 and 3. On both days we got to see Raiola uncork a handful of beautiful deep balls with little to no strain,” Power wrote. “Raiola has easy arm strength with the ability to effortlessly push the ball downfield with accuracy and touch. The Georgia pledge was stellar in his pro day session, looking to be operating with a high comfort level in the structured environment. He backed that up with arguably the best 7-on-7 session of the group, completing 13 of 16 passes for 4 touchdowns, including a few pretty deep balls.“

“‘Strongest arm’ is a nebulous term that requires context,” Power continued. “Others in attendance were better at driving the ball on a line, but Raiola got the ball vertically the easiest of all 20 finalists, in our opinion.”
Raiola On3 evaluation…
“Advanced arm talent with the ability to make a wide variety of high-level throws as a high school signal-caller. Was identified as a top arm talent and quarterback in the 2024 cycle early on in his high school career. Physically developed at around 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. Has continued to add mass later on in his high school career. Owns a natural, loose throwing motion with arm dexterity to deliver off-platform and from multiple arm slots. Raiola showed a deep catalog of throws as a sophomore. Easily drives the ball to all levels of the field. Played both under center and in the shotgun as a junior. Ahead of the curve as a ball-handler and in the quick passing game. Shows good footwork and awareness in the pocket. Capable of creative plays in the face of pressure. Primarily a pass-first quarterback as a junior, not running for many yards and finishing with -82 yards rushing – an anomaly for a top quarterback prospect. Will need to show more mobility and playmaking ability. Transferred to his third high school prior to his senior season. The son of 14-year NFL center Dominic Raiola. Also a standout baseball player as a pitcher and catcher.”
