EA Sports is continuing to keep college football fans anxiously awaiting the release of EA Sports College Football 25 in July, releasing information in bits and pieces about the anticipated game. On Thursday, offensive unit rankings came out with Georgia leading the way.

Coming in with a rating of 94, the Bulldogs are tied with Oregon for highest in the game. Alabama and Texas are the other two teams above 90 (each at 91).

There’s a couple of things that factor into Georgia being on top of the offensive power rankings. As is the case for teams across the country, quarterback is so important and the Bulldogs might have the best one. Carson Beck was featured among Heisman hopefuls that are available for ultimate team play, so you can expect him to be among the highest rated players regardless of position.

“When I was at EA they explained, veteran quarterbacks who have proven themselves, they’re going to be given attributes that allow them to overcome a lot of things,” On3’s Andy Staples shared. “They’re going to make them more accurate. They’re going to make them able to handle a lot more things that will make their receivers better at catching the ball.”

Beck’s not the Bulldogs’ only weapon though. While Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey are off to the NFL, Georgia has incredible pass catchers it can rely upon with the likes of Dominic Lovett, Dillon Bell and Oscar Delp, among others. Transfer portal additions Colbie Young (Miami WR), Trevor Etienne (Florida RB) and Ben Yurosek (Stanford TE) only add to the number of threats to move the chains.

Of course, you’ve got to have an offensive line to keep the quarterback on his feet and able to deliver the ball to the playmakers. Georgia is well off there too. With four players returning up front that have some starting experience and several others that rotated in at times last season, the Bulldogs are considered one of the nation’s top units on the line of scrimmage.

Details continue to emerge about the video game, set to be released in full on July 19th. Earlier this week, the 25 toughest places to play were named with Sanford Stadium in Athens at No. 5. Team ratings are expected to be announced on Friday while individual player ratings will come at a later date.
