Final Georgia draft picks sign NFL rookie contracts
The last of 2022 Georgia NFL Draft picks have signed their rookie contracts. After Derion Kendrick and Zamir White put pen to paper earlier this week, Jake Camarda inked his deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday. Details of Camarda’s deal have not been announced.
Camarda served as Georgia’s punter each of the last four seasons since his arrival in Athens. The Norcross, Ga. native was named an All-SEC selection by both the coaches (First-Team) and Associated Press (Second-Team) in 2021 as he finished his career leading the UGA record books for career punting average with a mark of 45.78 yards, surpassing 2009 Ray Guy award winner Drew Butler. Camarda earned All-American and All-SEC status in 2020 as he was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Year as voted upon by the league’s 14 head coaches. That season he averaged 46.6 yards per punt, good for fourth in the country. He was even better in terms of average the year before, punting 61 times for an average of 46.84 yards per punt.
ICYMI – Derion Kendrick, Zamir White contracts
Camarda was the last of Georgia’s record breaking 15 draft picks to sign their rookie contract. The Los Angeles Rams announced earlier this week that they had secured all of eight of their draft picks including cornerback Derion Kendrick. Meanwhile, running back Zamir White signed his four-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders worth $4.53 million including a $923,000 signing bonus on Wednesday.
