One of the biggest names in the Class of 2023 will bring his recruitment to an end on Thursday, as five-star tight end Duce Robinson has announced his plan to commit.

Robinson, the nation’s top tight end for the 2023 cycle and only remaining uncommitted five-star prospect for the class, is expected to choose between Southern Cal, Georgia, and Texas.

Originally, Robinson was expected to announce a commitment on Signing Day in February but backed off of those plans in the hours leading up.

“To be honest, we’re just not sure where we want to go yet,” Robinson said at that time. “It’s been a long process and fun process, but I don’t have that conviction. When I make my decision, I want to be at peace with it and be pretty convicted and not go anywhere. I want to there for three years or maybe more.

… I want to go somewhere I fit the scheme. I feel like I’m a pretty unique player in what I bring to the table, so I want to go somewhere I feel like I’ll be used to my full potential.”

As of March 18, he was still searching for answers.

“I am waiting on my brain and my heart to align for me to make my decision,” Robinson told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Once they do that, then I will be set. I know it is coming soon.

…I have had more time to sort through everything after not signing on Feb. 1. There are people I know and friends I have on all three campuses,” he said. “There are guys I got to know throughout the process, guys I played with, guys I played against, and I am getting feedback from guys at all three schools about what things are like. That is helping me. It is down to those same three schools and things are clearing up for me. I am still letting it all play out to make this decision.”

Where it stands for Duce Robinson in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

Georgia is still among the contenders for Robinson, which he noted in speaking with Simmons on March 18.

“Coach Todd Hartley is great and what Georgia does with their tight ends is incredible,” Robinson said. “The game days are electric at Georgia and it is a great atmosphere in Athens. Coach Smart preaches family too, which has always stood out to me.”

The Dawgs look to be playing from behind, however, with Southern Cal holding a firm lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Currently, the Trojans are considered an almost 70-percent favorite to land Robinson, with a recent expert pick coming from InsideTexas’ Justin Wells on March 8.
