Four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite of Akron, Ohio’s Archbishop Hoban High School has watched his recruitment explode over the last few months.

Georgia was among those to enter the race, and now, he’s included them in the first cut to his list.

The Bulldogs join nine other teams in the race for the services of the 6-foot-4, 295-pound interior lineman, battling the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Tennessee.

Kirby Smart’s squad, however, may hold somewhat of an edge over much of the field, as the emerging star has pointed to the Dawgs as one of his current top three school, as well.

In that field, the Dawgs are joined by Clemson and Tennessee.

“I got a real feeling at those schools and it felt like home for me. It was like I was with my high school team and I felt secure at those schools. They made me feel important and I had an overall good time at all three schools,” Satterwhite told On3’s Chad Simmons recently.

Satterwhite also shared with Simmons that he has an official visit set to Alabama on June 23 and is likely to see Clemson to start the month.

Georgia and Tennessee will likely find themselves on the list, as well.

Satterwhite didn’t hold back on praise for the Dawgs when speaking with Simmons either.

“Georgia is the new Alabama. They have won back-to-back national championships, they get a lot of players drafted the education is strong at Georgia too. It is a good mixture of things at Georgia,” he said.

And Georgia’s interest seems quite strong given that it was Kirby Smart himself who took the opportunity to offer when the four-star prospect visited campus this spring.

“Coach Smart offered me directly, and they said it was rare for him to meet a player and do that after just talking to him a bit. It felt kind of special for me, and it meant a lot. I was excited that he liked my film, as well. I was super excited. They’ve been the best in college football the last two years going back-to-back. To have that caliber of team take interest in and offer me was just a great experience,” he told DawgsHQ following the trip. “They made a personal schedule for us, and they had the assistant offensive line coach, as well as the recruiting assistant, with us. They focused on the position I play, and they took us around to talk to all the coaches. To be able to talk to Coach Smart for so long felt unique. It wasn’t the same old speech. Having that talk with him felt special.”
