Georgia Basketball releases full 2021-22 schedule
Georgia Basketball released its full schedule for the 2021-22 season on Thursday. The Bulldogs previously announced the non-conference slate as well as the conference opponents, however, dates and times are now known.
Tom Crean and his team will open the season November 9 against Florida International at Stegeman Coliseum. Then, just a matter of days later, Georgia will hit the road for the first time to play Cincinnati.
Marquee matchups on the schedule include in-state rival Georgia Tech on November 19 as well as likely preseason top-10 team Memphis on December 1. Both of those games will be played in Athens.
Once the new year rolls around, it’s all SEC opponents for the Bulldogs including home matchups against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams Alabama, Arkansas, Florida and Tennessee.

This year’s team features several new faces including five Division I transfers, three true freshmen and two JUCO additions. Only five players return from last year’s team, the first to finished above .500 under Crean. However, the Bulldogs have improved both their overall and SEC record each year with Crean as the head coach. Another might have Georgia in contention to play some postseason basketball.
