Georgia Bulldogs Countdown to Kickoff: 61 Days
We’re at 61 days until the Georgia Bulldogs kick off against the Oregon Ducks. The first 61 that comes to mind for me in Red and Black is Dawgs center, David Andrews (AKA ‘Boss’).
David Andrews snapped the ball and blocked for some greats.
He started with SEC passing yards and touchdowns leader, Aaron Murray. He also cleared running paths for Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.
Then all 32 NFL teams chose not to draft him out of Georgia, before the New England Patriots signed him as a free agent. In the end, I think most people would agree that it eventually worked out well for all parties involved.
After that, he earned a starting job to snap and block for the GOAT after doing enough to impress Bill Belichick as a rookie.
David Andrews won two Super Bowls with Tom Brady: one against his hometown Atlanta Falcons, and one in his hometown at Merecedes-Benz Stadium against Gurley’s Rams.

David Andrews’s health scare and recovery
Andrews had to sit out the entire 2019 NFL season with blood clots in his lungs.
Despite the scare, it couldn’t keep Boss on the sidelines for good.
He returned in 2020, and in a moment that will make some Georgia Bulldogs fans feel funny, Auburn legend Cam Newton actually set Andrews up for a pretty cool celebration.
Andrews is a Georgia boy, but he’s all New England now. Boss just signed a four-year extension to stay with the Pats in 2021.
His professional legacy speaks for itself, and he’ll always be a Damn Good Dawg.
He wasn’t the biggest, fastest or strongest. But David Andrews is a World Champ. And he’ll always be The Boss.
