Georgia Bulldogs Countdown to Kickoff: 88 Days
We’re 88 days away from kickoff to the 2022 Georgia football season with the Bulldogs taking on Oregon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. One player that I’d expect to make an impact in that game, No. 88 himself – Jalen Carter.
Carter, a former five-star coming out of Apopka, Fla. in the Class of 2020, has been a major contributor for Georgia in each of the last two seasons. He has played in all 25 games since he stepped foot on campus, totaling 51 career tackles including 11.5 for loss and three takedowns the quarterback. He’s also blocked two kicks – one of which sparked the Bulldogs’ run in the National Championship Game against Alabama. While Carter has made an impact, he’ll be asked to do much more in 2022 with his defensive line mates Jordan Davis, Travon Walker and Devonte Wyatt all gone.

On social media, Jalen Carter is known as “BreadManJalen.” And with the kind of performances that we expect to see from Carter in 2022, he’s going to make some dough for himself in the 2023 NFL Draft. Those three – Davis, Walker and Wyatt – were all first round picks. They are on the record saying that Carter could be the best of all of them. That’s speaks volumes about the kind of player that Carter’s capable of being. Look for Carter’s name on all the preseason All-American teams and awards watch lists and listen for it early next spring in the NFL Draft. He’s that kind of player, and Georgia fans should enjoy watching him play while it lasts.
