Georgia Bulldogs Countdown to Kickoff: 48 Days
We’re a mere 48 days away from Georgia making its way to Atlanta for the 2022 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic against the Ducks of Oregon.
And this is, admittedly, a bit more difficult of a number.
48 isn’t exactly a sexy roster number.
In terms of scores, the one that popped out to us was the 48 points the Bulldogs held the Oklahoma Sooners to in the Rose Bowl. That was clearly one of the marquee moments of the Kirby Smart era for any number of reasons, but it was also the other team’s score.
So, instead, I’m going to keep doing some of what I’ve been doing best — honoring the guys that get no love on the roster.
Today, we’re turning to you, Mr. walk-on defensive back.
Joseph Daniels Jr. is a graduate student in Athens and a transfer from Indiana, though he originally hails from Roswell High School.

He wrapped up his degree in Bloomington in December, appearing in 12 games for the Hoosiers over his tenure under Tom Allen.
A walk-on at Indiana, Daniels then entered the transfer portal, looking for a new home.
The 5-foot-10, 188-pound Georgia native ended up landing far closer to home in Athens as a result.
While walk-on guys may not see a ton of action in the Georgia defense, Daniels has plenty of value to bring to the program, especially where the practice field is concerned.
Daniels was a five-time special teams player of the week for the Hoosiers.
He’s also going to help in the classroom, named as a three-time Academic All Big-Ten member.
So, while you may not hear much about Joseph Daniels this season, give some love to your walk-ons.
They play a major role that is so often overlooked.
