Georgia coaches visit school of standout 2024 quarterback
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and his staff have been on the road recently. On Friday, Smart, as well as offensive coordinator Todd Monken, stopped in to see Avon Old Farms in Connecticut, home of 2024 quarterback commit Ryan Puglisi.
Puglisi committed to Georgia in October after an offer from the Bulldogs came this past summer. Impressing individuals that went to go see him, Puglisi shot up to No. 38 in the country and the No. 3 quarterback for the Class of 2024 a short time after. On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power explained the big jump.
Ryan Puglisi is the biggest riser among quarterbacks in the midseason 2024 On300 rankings update on the heels of multiple impressive camp showings along with an encouraging start to his junior season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder has shown one of the strongest arms in the cycle. He generates considerable velocity and effortlessly drives the football to all levels. Puglisi — who committed to Georgia on Sunday — was a standout on the college camp circuit, landing offers from the Bulldogs and Alabama after throwing for each staff in June. He transferred to Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms for his junior season and has shown that high-end arm talent through a handful of games this season. While we’re still learning about Puglisi’s skill set as a complete quarterback, the arm talent and playmaking ability separate him from many of the other top quarterbacks at this stage. – Charles Power
Puglisi posted highlights from his junior season in November.
Puglisi recently took a visit to Georgia for the Bulldogs’ championship celebration and parade earlier this month. Afterwards, he spoke with DawgsHQ’s Jake Reuse to share how it went.

“My commitment is a real commitment. I am locked in, and I am a Georgia Bulldog. Everytime I come down, my commitment gets more solid because of how amazing the program and the people are,” Puglisi said. “I love to compete, and I always have. I can’t wait to get there next winter.”
Puglisi is part of Georgia’s already-ranked No. 2 class in the country with the Bulldogs having eight commits on board. Tight end Landen Thomas, the No. 1 player for his position according to the On3 Consensus, leads the way with a couple of defensive backs not far behind him. St. John Bosco safety Peyton Woodyard committed to Georgia on January 7th just days before safety Jaylen Heyward did the same less than a week later on the 13th. Woodyard and Heyward come in at No. 34 and No. 42 overall respectively and are joined by fellow top-50 commits linebacker Demarcus Riddick (No. 43) and wide receiver Ny Carr (No. 49) in the class. Running back Tovani Mizell and wide receiver Sacovie White round things out.
