Another day, another set of preseason awards for Georgia football players. The Jim Thorpe Award has tabbed senior cornerback Daylen Everette and sophomore safety KJ Bolden for the preseason watchlist for the award.

The Thorpe Award is awarded to college football’s top defensive back. Former Bulldog Malaki Starks was a finalist for the award in 2024. Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron took him the award in 2024.

Everette is entering his third full season as a starter for Georgia. He put up 58 tackles, one sack, forced two fumbles, and had three interceptions in 2024. Everette was the MVP of the SEC Championship Game. Everette snagged two interceptions to help Georgia beat Texas in Atlanta.

Bolden was a freshman All-American in 2024. Bolden joined Georgia after flipping his commitment from Florida State on signing day after being a star at Buford High School.

The former five-star was thrown into the starting lineup against Clemson in the season opener. Bolden tallied 59 tackles, a sack, and an interception.

The Bulldogs are expecting a lot out of the second-year starter for Georgia’s defense in 2025.
