Georgia defensive stars land on preseason award watchlists
The preseason love continues to pour in for Georgia as the 2025 football season is on the horizon.
Georgia begins camp practices on Thursday. A few Bulldogs were announced as candidates for a prestigious college football award ahead of the season.
Senior cornerback Daylen Everette, junior defensive lineman Christen Miller, junior linebacker CJ Allen and sophomore safety KJ Bolden were all named to the Bronco Nagurski Trophy watchlist.
The Bronco Nagurski Trophy is awarded to the nation’s top defensive player. It is voted on by members of the Football Writers Association.
All four players are key returners for Georgia. Everette tallied 58 tackles, a sack and three interceptions.

Allen is Georgia’s returning leading tackler. He had 76 total tackles in 2024. That was second on the team.
Bolden was a freshman All-American after tallying 59 tackles, a sack and one interception.
Miller put up 27 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Miller was also named to the Outland Trophy watchlist. The Outland Trophy goes to the best interior defensive lineman in the country.
Georgia will practice for the first time ahead of the 2025 season on Thursday. The Bulldogs will host Marshall to open the season on Aug. 30 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
