Georgia got a key defensive lineman to return for the 2025 season earlier this week but it lost one on Wednesday. Fourth-year junior Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, after earning his degree from UGA last month, will be moving on to the NFL. The South Carolina native made the announcement via Instagram and he exits Athens with two National Championships and two SEC Championships.

“It has been an amazing four years! After graduating from the University of Georgia in December, I’ve decided to forego my remaining eligibility and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft,” Ingram-Dawkins said in a statement.

“I’m incredible grateful for the opportunity to represent the University of Georgia and wear the red and black with pride. To Coach Smart and the entire coaching staff, thank you for your guidance, mentorship, and unwavering belief in me.

“To my teammates, thank you for the brotherhood, the competition, and the unforgettable memories we created together. To all of Dawg Nation, thank you for your passionate support throughout my time in Athens. A special thanks to my family, friends, and the incredible support system in Gaffney, S.C. You all have been my rock, and I would be here without your love and encouragement. This journey has been a blessing, and I’m excited for the next chapter. Go Dawgs!”

Ingram-Dawkins battled the injury bug in his Georgia career, specifically the 2023 season, but he broke out a bit in 2024. He tallied three sacks and eight tackles for loss while stacking up 19 total tackles. His UGA career ends with him having tallied four career sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss.

A foot injury sidelined him for most of the 2023 season and just when it looked like he might not return, he was able to get back on the field after the Bulldogs’ bye week. Ingram-Dawkins made a massive splash in that game with a strip sack of Graham Mertz that helped Georgia open up a big lead.

Ingram-Dawkins signed with Georgia in the 2021 class. He was the nation’s No. 107 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings. He was the nation’s No. 14 defensive lineman and the No. 1 player in South Carolina.

Two other Georgia defenders have foregone remaining eligibility to enter the 2025 NFL Draft since the season ended. Both Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams, who shared snaps with Ingram-Dawkins at defensive end, have made the jump. Georgia also lost a pair of offensive linemen on Tuesday when Dylan Fairchild and Jared Wilson declared early.
