The Georgia Elite Classic has become a staple in the high school football calendar in the state of Georgia. The All-Star event has produced a long list of big-time prospects who have gone on to have college football stardom.

A new crop will be on display this evening. This reporter took in practice on Friday and got a look at a few playmakers who were getting ready to take the field later this evening at McEachern High School.

2027 QB Teddy Jarrard

Jarrard has all the tools. He’s a big quarterback with a solid arm to make all the necessary throws. Jarrard also has some mobility.

He’s the nephew of former Georgia quarterback Cory Phillips.

2027 WR Keyon Standifer

The Athens Academy playmaker had over 1,200 yards as a sophomore. He’s been on Georgia’s campus a few times already.

He hasn’t picked up an offer from Georgia yet but the Bulldogs have had an eye on him since he stepped on campus at Athens Academy.

2028 ATH Keelan Wonsley

Wonsley was one of the more unique skill players I observed on Friday. He’s in a position to have a larger role for back-to-back champions Milton in 2025.

Wonsley is smooth. He slithers through traffic with the football and he’s a hands catcher. Wonsley will likely run well in a camp setting as well.

He’s a name to take note of.

2027 OL Carter Mathis

You could see Mathis a mile away. No, I mean that. Walking out onto the practice field, you ‘man, who is that’. At 6-foot-8 Mathis stands out physically.

He moves well for a large young man. He’s athletic enough to bend and reach block on the outside as a tackle and as a guard.

2027 LB Max Brown

Brown has already made a name for himself at the high school level. Had well over 100 tackles as a sophomore in 2024.

He is the younger brother of Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown. The younger Brown is a different type of player. Georgia has already had him in camp and will again this summer.

2026 OL Bear McWhorter

McWhorter already has an offer from Georgia. He’s matured physically over the last few years and continues to do so.

He now stands around 6’4, 290 pounds. Georgia has continued to communicate.

2026 EDGE Ayden Cain (Duke commit)

Cain has continued to grow physically and his bag as a pass rusher has grown immensely over the last few years of him attending this event.

A name to watch going into the spring with camp season on the horizon.

2028 WR Aiden Opore

Speed personified. Opore also has the size of a big-time skill player already. Has already posted a 22.47 in the 200 meters.

2028 OL Kweli Fielder

Like Mathis, Fielder screams across the football field at you with his size. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds but he seemed even larger than that.

Fielder carries that size well for a young player. He could be up for a bigger role at Carrollton next season.

2029 OL Landon Ghea

It sounds crazy today because this young man is still in middle school but he already looks the part. Ghea stands out physically in any room he’s in.

Ghea is already coordinated to move well in his massive frame. His older brother, Ryan Ghea has already signed with Auburn.

The younger Ghea could be in a similar position in a few years.
