Georgia extends offer to Mississippi State QB commit KaMario Taylor
Georgia had largely been quiet on the quarterback recruiting front after landing Ryan Mongtomery in April of this year, but over the course of the last month, that has changed in a big way. Now, there’s a new name in the mix in the form of Mississippi State commit KaMario Taylor.
The Dawgs extended an offer to the four-star Mississippi State commit on Sunday evening.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 110 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, Taylor is the nation’s No. 10 quarterback and No. 4 prospect in Mississippi for the Class of 2025 per the same metric.
A Mississippi State commit since October of 2023, Taylor has been firm in his feelings toward the Bulldogs of the west.
“They said they can’t wait until I get there and that we’re gonna have some fun. It’s good with Coach (Matt) Holecek and Coach Lebby and our relationship is like white on rice. They said they’re ready to get me there and turn me loose…It’s very relaxing, not having to worry about different coaches and different colleges,” Taylor told Maroon and White Daily’s Paul Jones in late August. “I still have some colleges reach out like UCF. But it’s better for me because I don’t have any worry or stress about recruiting. I know where I want to go and I know where home is.”
Despite those comments, Kirby Smart and company are leaving no stone unturned for the Magnolia State-based standout.

And it’s easy to see why when you read the scouting reports.
“KaMario Taylor‘s physical talent and playmaking ability are on display early on in his senior season for Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said of Taylor this season. “The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pounder has made impressive plays on a weekly basis while keeping his team competitive in games against good programs from higher classifications. Taylor is the shiftiest runner of the quarterbacks inside the top 100. His burst, change of direction and contact balance make him very difficult for defenders to bring down. Taylor has a play-style that at times resembles backyard football. He has a strong arm to go with the natural athleticism, but will need to add polish as a passer once he gets to the college level in order maximize his considerable upside.”
KaMario Taylor not Georgia’s lone recent quarterback offer
While Taylor is the latest name to see the Dawgs enter the fold, he’s not the only one, with Georgia clearly eyeing some of the nation’s best down the stretch.
Four-star Cal commit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele saw Mike Bobo and company extend an offer in late October, and he’s rewarding their interest this week with a planned official visit to Athens.
“You know, I’m really heavily considering (Georgia), especially because I know their circumstances, and I know that it’s a great school,” Sagapolutele told DawgsHQ after receiving the offer. “So, yeah, I know it’s just weighing on my mind a lot.”
