Georgia fans (and Florida fans) react to Mike White hiring
Mike White became Georgia’s next head basketball coach over the weekend, and Bulldogs fans had some things to say about it.
Florida fans and SEC fans alike did, too. It isn’t often that a Gator joins up to coach the Bulldogs.
White’s hiring was definitely a surprise.
He didn’t show up on any oddsmakers’ lists that I saw.
Regardless, Mike White now has the task of picking Georgia up off the mat after a doozy of a four years from Tom Crean.
Georgia fans’ thoughts on Mike White: ‘Too early to tell’
Basically, I don’t get the sense that Georgia fans know how to feel about this yet.
Jonas Hayes was the people’s (and former players’) choice, but outside of him, who did anyone think Georgia was actually going to pursue?

Uh, I’ll take some of that.
Florida fans make it clear: they were ready to move on
Mike White performed better at Florida than Tom Crean did at Georgia.
Still, Florida fans have high expectations for Gators basketball. A 142-88 record with four NCAA Tournament appearances seems low to some.
Georgia fans would take it, no questions asked.
Twitter is the window to a sports fan’s soul. No more, no less. These reactions are great.
But I can’t wait to see how this rivalry, and White’s career, plays out from here.
