BREAKING: Georgia adds Oregon transfer DB Collin Gill
Georgia has been more active in the transfer portal than ever in 2024 and it added another player on Thursday. Oregon transfer defensive back Collin Gill announced he will continue his football career with the Bulldogs, giving UGA nine transfers for the 2024 season.
Gill signed with the Ducks in the 2023 class. He did not play in his first season due to injury and has four years to play four at Georgia. Gill played high school ball at St. Johns in Washington D.C. where he was rated as a three-star prospect in the 2023 cycle.
DawgsHQ has confirmed that Gill will be on scholarship at Georgia. The Bulldogs had one spot left after spring departures. They added former Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada once spring drills were over and DawgsHQ reported Georgia was also in the market for a defensive back/safety.
At 6-feet 190 pounds, Gill was ranked as the nation’s No. 1,060 prospect in the 2023 class per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings. He was the No. 102 cornerback and the No. 6 player in Washington D.C.

Gill is part of Georgia’s biggest transfer portal haul ever…
Prior to 2024, the most players Georgia had gotten out of the transfer portal in one cycle was three. That happened in 2023 when the Bulldogs added Dominic Lovett from Missouri, Rara Thomas from Mississippi State, and Smoke Bouie from Texas A&M.
Gill brings the Georgia total to nine in the current class, by far the Bulldogs’ biggest ever. UGA added three wideouts via the transfer portal in London Humphreys (Vanderbilt), Colbie Young (Miami), and Michael Jackson III (USC). The Bulldogs also went into the transfer portal for a running back, Trevor Etienne (Florida) and a defensive lineman, Xzavier McLeod (South Carolina).
Gill is Georgia’s second transfer addition in the defensive backfield, joining Jake Pope. The Buford High school product played his first two seasons of college ball at Alabama. Gill is also UGA’s fourth addition from the old PAC12, joining Jackson, former Stanford tight end Ben Yurosek and former Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada.
