Georgia has a chance on Saturday to finish SEC regular-season play unbeaten for the second time in as many seasons. The Bulldogs take on Kentucky, a team that is sure to be fired up after falling to Vanderbilt several days ago. This game feels a lot different than it did 6 weeks ago. That’s for sure.

Marks Stoops’ team started the season 4-0 and that was without star running back Chris Rodriguez. He returned for the fifth game of the year and since then, for whatever reason, the Wildcats have lost four of six. They had climbed their way into the College Football Playoff top-25 before the loss to Vanderbilt now it’s all about trying to play spoiler and get the best bowl game possible.

The sports books don’t think Kentucky has much of a chance against Georgia and the bettors seem to agree. The spread opened at Georgia -22.5 and it has stayed right there according to VegasInsider.com.

That’s a big number for an SEC road favorite but folks aren’t acting scared of it. VegasInsider says that 81 percent of the bets and 68 percent of the cash are on Georgia to cover that number. That discrepancy in percentages indicates that a large wager (or two or three or…) has been placed on UK.

Georgia has been dynamite against the spread since failing to cover two weeks in a row against Kent State and Missouri. The Bulldogs have won by a margin bigger than the number in four of the last five games. The only miss was against Florida when the Bulldogs shot themselves in the foot in the third quarter with two turnovers. Georgia still won by 21 points but didn’t cover the 23.5 number.

The under has been a good bet for Georgia this season. It has hit in seven out of UGA’s 10 games this season. That number is set at 49.5 points for Kentucky and the public is really loving the under.

VegasInsider has 77 percent of the bets on the under and 98 percent of the money. That’s a lot of action for a total less than 55 points but Kentucky’s offense has been atrocious of late.

Lastly we have the money line where despite the lack of value, the public is heavy on Georgia. It takes a $2,500 bet to get a $100 payout but most taking the action are going that way. VegasInsider says that 96 percent of the money-line bets are on Georgia.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The Bulldogs will wrap up the 2022 regular season on November 26 with Georgia Tech. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on ESPN and it will be Senior Day at Sanford Stadium.
