WATCH: Brock Bowers, Broderick Jones can't stop competing
ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia is in the middle of a business trip to Atlanta but that doesn’t keep the Bulldogs from enjoying their downtime. The players have a hospitality lounge over at the team hotel and based on what we’ve heard this week, the pool table has been a popular spot.
During Wednesday’s press conference, starting left tackle Broderick Jones made a bold claim. He said that he had been getting the better of All-American tight end Brock Bowers on the slate. Bowers obviously refuted and in most cases, that would be that.
Not this time. The Georgia video team was able to film a best of three showdown between Jones and Bowers and it’s worth the two-minute watch.
“I’m about to put a whoopin’ on the best tight end in the country,” Jones said.

Jones dominates the first game and goads Bowers at the end. He then makes a critical error and loses the second because he knocks the eight ball in too soon. Then Bowers gets hot and takes the final game and the best of three matchup.

The Bulldog lineman is left with no choice. He has to proclaim Bowers champion for a day. Georgia arrived in Atlanta on Monday and it has conducted three practices inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Ohio State has been using the same venue for preparations.
Thursday was media day where essentially every player and coach was made available to speak with reporters. That included true freshmen and first-year assistant coaches we haven’t spoken with since they took jobs at UGA.
Georgia vs. Ohio State is set for December 31 at 8 p.m. ET inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. ESPN will broadcast the game with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Laura Rutledge, and Holly Rowe on the call.
