It’s been quite the year for us here at Georgia football. The Bulldogs family saw quite a bit of success – and a great deal of change!

Merry Christmas, y’all. If you’re reading this, you are near and dear to our Bulldog hearts.

As you know, the blood that pumps from it runs red and black.

Sorry, I know you don’t normally get many updates about blood in these annual family Christmas card updates.

But this is mostly a figurative thing, in a literally violent sport.

Plus, “you’re either elite or you’re not,” as our Top Dawg, Kirby Smart, likes to say (and that includes putting up with TMI in the family newsletter – Ha!)

Speaking of Smart, he helped us welcome a new addition since the last time we spoke

We were a little down after an unfortunate setback against Alabama, as you may remember.

But in the end, we Rolled the Tide and have even better tidings – whatever those are – this year!

Before our most recent addition, the SEC Championship, we met the real pride and joy you’ve all been waiting to meet.

College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy joined us on January 11, 2022.

It came in at 26.5-inches and weighed 35 pounds.

His older, but smaller brother – the crystal Coaches’ Trophy – came back home to visit the first chance he got.

An intimate gathering this was not (as many of you know!). More than 90,000 people showed up at our house to celebrate CFP Trophy’s arrival.

It lives on as a day our household will never forget.

After we welcomed the new addition, several members of our Georgia football family blazed new trails

And it wasn’t just a few of them, either.

We saw 15 Georgia football stars pursue exciting career advancements in the National Football League!

Many of them are doing well, as we are sure you’ve seen on Sundays this fall.

We are particularly proud of one Bulldog’s quick ascent up the corporate ladder.

George Pickens is the best rookie wideout in the game, and one of the best in the sport. We are awfully proud to see what he’s done this year.

George sure has come a long way since the time he threw one of the nerds on the playground into a wall, for instance.

And of course, who could forget the time he squirted one of our redneck Tennessee cousins with a water bottle at a recent family get-together?

Pittsburgh is lucky to have him!

Sadly, there is one Bulldog who won’t be around the tree to regale us with his wonderful stories this Christmas

We said goodbye to the most treasured member of our Bulldog family in October, as the classy legend, Vince Dooley, moved on to his greatest gardening endeavor yet.

Coach Dooley knew more about Georgia football history – and global war history – than many historians do.

His impact on the sport and the team that we hold dear will live on through the generations.

Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for Vince Dooley, a one-of-a-kind pirate just joined his garden party.

A fellow coach, historian, and Bulldog (of a different breed and SEC division) will be there to converse with him for hours around Heaven’s firs, cypresses, spruces and pines this holiday.

If we could only hear the banter between Coach Dooley and Coach Mike Leach, now.

The very thought of it fills our hearts with the spirit of Christmas joy.

As for what’s ahead down here

Some members of the Bulldog family really wanted old Uncle Stetson Bennett to hit the road after last season’s exciting new addition.

He benefited from many of those defensive players’ contributions to the family, after all.

Surely, he wouldn’t feel right hanging around for a victory lap at their house once they all flew the coop?

Well, that section of the Dawg House is awfully quiet these days.

Stetson just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York City with some of his fellow College Football quarterbacks, as a matter of fact!

They all had a chance to win yet another prestigious annual award.

While we were a bit bummed to see Stetson finish behind his peers, we are thrilled to know that he doesn’t paint targeted insults on his fingernails.

He prefers to let his team’s performance do the talking.

While we can’t wait to see what these Bulldogs have in store for the Ohio State Buckeyes in Atlanta…

…and hopefully one more game after that all the way out in Los Angeles (save some space on the couch, Matthew and Kelly! Lots of Laughs)…

…we’re ultimately glad this Christmas Card reached you and yours safely this holiday season.

While so many things are unpredictable and out of our control this time of year, we’re glad we can always count on the fact that our Mailman delivers.

Go Dawgs.

Merry Christmas.

Enjoy the presents.

Here’s to ending this year with a Peach…

and starting the next one with yet another new addition to the Bulldog family.
