Georgia Football: Dawgs in the NFL (Week 16)
With Christmas occurring over the weekend, the Bulldogs in the NFL had an atypical schedule, with many former Georgia players taking the field on Saturday. Furthermore, this week being the third to last until the NFL playoffs start meant many of the Dawgs’ stars in the NFL needed to step up for their franchises. Considering, all of the pressure on their backs, it’s safe to say they delivered.
Tyson Campbell
The third-year corner for Jacksonville had a huge game for the Jaguars last Thursday, playing a big role in holding the New York Jets to just three points. On the night, Campbell totaled seven total tackles, seven solo tackles, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups, including this hustle play to keep the ball away from rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
James Cook
Each week this season, it seems that rookie running back has taken on an even larger role on the Buffalo Bills offense. This past Saturday in their frigid game against Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears, Cook had a catch for nine yards, as well as 11 carries for 99 yards which includes this 24-yard touchdown.
Azeez Ojulari
The former Georgia edge rusher has not seen the field much this season due to injury, but when he’s played, he has been unstoppable. In the last 6 games, Ojulari has put up five and a half sacks for the New York Giants. Unfortunately, Ojulari was forced to exit during the Giants’ loss against the Minnesota Vikings due to an ankle injury.

George Pickens
During the Steelers’ Christmas Eve night game against the Las Vegas Raiders, George Pickens only saw five targets throughout the night. However, the rookie wide receiver made the most of those opportunities, hauling all five targets for a total of 57 yards
With less than a minute left in the game, Pickens snagged this reception over the middle for the Steelers’ first touchdown of the game and the eventual game-winning touchdown.
Nick Chubb and Roquan Smith
This past week, both Nick Chubb and Roquan Smith were invited to the 2023 Pro Bowl on February 5th. This year is Chubb’s fifth invitation and Smith’s first, but both AFC North players should have plenty more invitations to come in the future.
