JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It’s time for Georgia and Florida to do battle on the banks of the St. Johns River. The Bulldogs and Gators will meet for the 101st time according to the former and or the 100th time according to the latter. These two programs can’t even reach an agreement on exactly how many times they have played.

Florida is 4-3 on the year and looking to spoil the No. 1-ranked team’s hopes of an SEC and National Championship. Georgia depth chart notes…

  • There’s some shifting at wide receiver. Georgia has Dillon Bell listed as the backup at the split end (X) position. He had previously been at flanker (Z). With Bell being listed at another spot, Arian Smith is listed as the No. 2 flanker behind Ladd McConkey. That’s new. It’s also new that Jackson Meeks is listed as a flanker on the depth chart.
  • Ladd McConkey is not on the depth chart at all on punt return. McConkey has been dealing with toe and ankle injuries. Kirby Smart told reporters last week that he is fine and that he would have played that week if there was a game. But he also said that they were going to dial back McConkey’s work load during the bye week.
  • Jalen Carter is listed on the depth chart but that has been the case for the past two games. Carter missed both of those. DawgsHQ reported Saturday that Carter made the trip to Jacksonville with the team and has a chance to play.
