Georgia depth chart observations…

  • Jalen Carter is listed as the starter at defensive tackle but he won’t play today. Carter is dealing with a sprained MCL in his left knee. That injury was sustained in the Bulldogs’ win over Missouri two weeks ago.
  • Smael Mondon is also listed as the starter at inside linebacker and his status for Saturday’s game is far from certain. He hasn’t practiced much over the past couple of weeks after suffering an ankle injury during the Missouri game. Mondon didn’t play last week against Auburn and neither did the guy listed behind him at MAC linebacker, Trezmen Marshall. If either or both of those guys can’t play, Georgia will lean on fourth-year junior linebacker Rian Davis and redshirt freshman Xavian Sorey.
  • There’s a chance that junior running back Kendall Milton, who is listed as a co-starter, won’t be able to play. He entered last week’s game against Auburn as the team’s leading rusher but suffered a groin injury after picking up 13 yards on two carries.
  • Sophomore wideout AD Mitchell made his return to the field last week against Auburn. He only played one snap but we have him listed as probable for the Georgia homecoming matchup.
