Georgia didn’t play as well as it wanted, especially on offense, in a 33-0 win over Samford. The Bulldogs struggled in the lower red zone, settling for four field goals inside the 10-yard line. They scored just three points in the second half.

Still, it was a blowout and quite a few true freshmen saw action. Below, DawgsHQ provides a full run down of which freshmen played, how much, and how they faired.

RB Branson Robinson (11 snaps): The bruising tailback carried the football three times for 12 yards on the day. He was also the target of a pass in the second half.

WR Dillon Bell (42 snaps): The first catch of Bell’s career went for a three-yard touchdown. He went on to catch three passes for 22 yards overall and was targeted six times.

WR De’Nylon Morrissette (16 snaps): Health and a strong week of practice led to Morrissette catching the first two balls of his career. He picked up 22 yards on those two grabs.

WR CJ Smith (3 snaps): After missing pretty much all of preseason camp with an undisclosed injury, Smith saw his first action against Samford. He didn’t catch a pass.

TE Oscar Delp (16 snaps): The former four-star prospect was targeted once and had the ball in his hands before a hit jarred it loose. He’s still working on his first career catch despite playing quite a bit in the first two games.

DE Mykel Williams (21 snaps): It’s now two games and two starts for Williams. He had one tackle but it was the first Georgia sack of the season.

DL Bear Alexander (11 snaps): The Texas native got into his first game as a Bulldog. He had one assisted tackle.

DL Christen Miller (8 snaps): Miller has now played in both games in 2022. He did not post a tackle.

DL Shone Washington (5 snaps): This was Washington’s first action of the season and he picked up one solo tackle.

EDGE C.J. Madden (3 snaps): The Cedar Grove High School product got into his first game but did not post anything on the stat sheet.

EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. (3 snaps): Jones has now posted single-digit snaps in two games. He did not register a tackle.
