The two-time defending National Champion Georgia Bulldogs will be front and center this spring. ESPN announced Monday that the SEC Network will televise the program’s Pro Day and ESPN will air the G-Day Spring Scrimmage.

UGA’s Pro Day is set for Wednesday, March 15. The SEC Network will begin its coverage at 10 a.m. G-Day is set for April 15 and the network announced that it will be televised by ESPN2 with kickoff set for 4 p.m. ET.

Another huge Pro Day at Georgia…

Pro Day is a big deal yet again at Georgia. A year after the Bulldogs set records with five defensive players selected in the first round and 15 players taken overall, they had 12 players invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

Some mock drafts think Georgia could get five players in the first round once again. Others think the number will be as low as two. Pro Day will go a long way toward sorting that out.

Projected first-round prospect Jalen Carter, who met with teams at the NFL Combine but did not work out, should be in action on Wednesday. Former walk-on turned Heisman Trophy finalist Stetson Bennett will also work out in front of NFL scouts and executives. UGA has already made it known that players willing to speak to reporters will be available for interviews after Pro Day has wrapped up.

G-Day on the big stage…

According to the schedule released by ESPN and the SEC on Monday, Georgia is the only team that will have its spring game aired by the network outside of a streaming platform. All of the other games listed can be streamed on ESPN+.

Winning back-to-back National Championships certainly helps, but so does the presences of a full-fledged quarterback competition. That’ll be on full display as Carson Beck enters spring as the favorite. He’ll have to hold off talented youngsters Brock Vandagriff and Gunner Stockton.

It’s the first time since 2016 that the Bulldogs enter spring truly looking for the next man up at quarterback. COVID-19 eliminated spring drills for prior to the 2020 season or fans might have been treated to a competition then. Still, Jamie Newman, a transfer from Wake Forest, was heavily favored to win the job then.

Kirby Smart‘s eighth team at Georgia will begin spring drills on Tuesday, March 14. It gets kicked off with media day around noon followed by interviews with select players. It is not yet known whether practice viewing periods will be allowed.
