Georgia game balls: Down goes No. 1 Tennessee
Georgia fans are feeling good on Sunday morning after watching their team physically dominate No. 1 Tennessee on Saturday. The third-quarter rain did Tennessee a favor as the Bulldogs packed it in on offense and trusted its defense to close out the 27-13 win.
Georgia got several standout performances on the day and significant ones on both side of the ball. We point them out for you below by handing out our game balls.
DL Jalen Carter: This defense is really good without Carter. It’s elite with him. The junior defensive tackle has been a force in both games since returning from knee and ankle injuries. Carter wrecked the game at times, tallying four total tackles, three solo stops, a sack, two tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. He just couldn’t be blocked one-on-one and the double teams had a tough time as well.
QB Stetson Bennett: The sixth-year senior had a hand in every Georgia touchdown. Bennett set the tone with a 13-yard touchdown scramble on Georgia’s second possession. It came on 3rd and 10 and went a long way toward putting an opening-drive fumble by Daijun Edwards in the distant past. Bennett then went on to look like the best passer on the football field. He out-dueled Heisman Trophy contender Hendon Hooker, completing 17 of 25 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns.
DB Javon Bullard: Georgia needed a big game from Bullard and the former three-star prospect delivered. He maintained tight coverage throughout the game and finished with seven total tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and a pass breakup. Bullard played a key role in keeping Tennessee under 200 yards passing on the day.

WR Ladd McConkey: October was forgettable for McConkey but he certainly showed up for the big game in November. McConkey led all receivers with 94 receiving yards and he needed just five catches to get there. He also delivered some some physical blocks out on the edge.
CB Kelee Ringo: The redshirt sophomore missed a few tackles and got flagged a couple of times, but he also understood the assignment and remained physical with Tennessee’s defensive backs throughout the day. Ringo came up with a huge interception in the second quarter when he blanketed Cedric Tillman near the Georgia goal line. The preseason All American delivered a couple of big hits and finished with seven total tackles (six solo).
RB Kenny McIntosh: Georgia’s leader in yards from scrimmage quietly had another big day. He didn’t reach the end zone but he piled up over 100 total yards on 12 touches. McIntosh ran it 10 times for 52 yards and caught two passes for 57 more.
The rest of Georgia’s secondary: Malaki Starks led the team in tackles with 10 and had a pass breakup. Kamari Lassiter had a breakup. Christopher Smith was impactful as always. These guys didn’t have the massive splash plays that we saw from other defensive backs on this list, but they got it done on Saturday.
