Game Balls: Georgia offense catches fire in thumping of Kentucky
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia was on the attack early and often Saturday as it took down the SEC’s only other unbeaten team, Kentucky, by a score of 51-13. The Bulldogs dominated from start to finish with big plays and efficiency that the Wildcats just couldn’t match. There were several standout performances and DawgsHQ singles those out by issuing game balls.
QB Carson Beck: The Georgia quarterback started the game with 11 straight completions and it wasn’t like he was dinking and dunking. He had 146 yards through the air in the first quarter alone. He threw a perfect ball that resulted in a 40-yard score on Georgia’s opening drive and tossed three touchdowns in the first half. Beck made a mistake in the third quarter and was picked off for the third time on the year, but it was borderline perfection outside of that mishap.
ILB Jamon Dumas-Johnson: Georgia defenders didn’t put up big numbers on Saturday. Well, outside of Dumas-Johnson. He had his best game of the season as he had 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss. The junior linebacker covered well and finished with four total tackles and three of them were solo.
TE Brock Bowers: The junior tight end had his third straight 100-yard game on Saturday. It wasn’t a perfect night for him, either, as he dropped a touchdown in the second quarter, causing Georgia to settle for a field goal, but he caught seven of nine targets for 132 yards and a touchdown. He had three catches of 20 yards or more and five that covered 10 or more yards.
LB Jalon Walker: The sophomore combo linebacker is credited with just two total tackles and a half sack but he was more impactful than that. Walker did a nice job of affecting the quarterback from his edge-rushing position on third down and when he played inside linebacker late in the game, he flashed some serious speed.

WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: The junior pass catcher got it going with a 40-yard touchdown catch on the opening drive and he was far from done. Rosemy-Jacksaint had three catches for 20 or more yards in the game and fell just one yard short of being the second Georgia receiver in triple digits with four grabs for 99 yards.
WR Rara Thomas: The Mississippi State transfer had the catch of the day. Thomas high-pointed a fade ball from Beck on the second Georgia possession and found a way to get a foot in bounds. The line judge didn’t believe it in real time, ruling the pass incomplete, but replay showed that he did, in fact, come down with it. He caught five passes for 63 yards and his first touchdown as a Georgia Bulldog.
RB Daijun Edwards: Georgia didn’t run it much early but Edwards was effective every time his number was called. He needed just nine carries to pile up 54 yards and while he didn’t find the end zone, he did get involved in the passing game. He was one of four receivers with 50 or more yards receiving, catching six passes for 51 yards.
