Georgia will make its way to Tuscaloosa in 2024 to take on Alabama and most of that game will take place under the lights at Bryant-Denny Stadium. According to a tweet from the Crimson Tide’s official account on Wednesday, kickoff for that September 28 matchup will be 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised by ABC.

The two teams just squared off less than two weeks ago with Alabama snapping a 29-game Georgia win streak. That streak set an SEC record and knocked the Bulldogs out of the 2023 College Football Playoff. They fell from No. 1 to No. 6 while Alabama rose from No. 8 to No. 4.

Georgia will now take on No. 5 Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Alabama is set for a matchup with No. 1 Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in that game, marching down the field on their first possession of the game. Alabama, however, scored the next 17 points to lead by 10 headed into halftime. Georgia cut the Crimson Tide lead to seven in the third quarter but a fumble at the Bulldogs’ own 10-yard line allowed Bama to take a 20-10 lead with a short field goal.

Georgia scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but Alabama was able to keep it at arms length, answering the first touchdown with one of its own and salting the game away on its final possession. The win moved Nick Saban to 5-1 over Kirby Smart with the latter’s only win coming in the 2021 National Championship game. The Crimson Tide are now 4-0 against Georgia in SEC Championship games and 3-0 inside Mercedes Benz-Stadium.

One of Smart’s losses to Alabama came in Tuscaloosa in 2020. That game had limited fan capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Georgia led that game at halftime but Alabama won the second half 21-0 to beat the Bulldogs 41-24.
