Game time, television announced for Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
The 2023 edition of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate will look a lot different than it has for the previous eight seasons. Georgia and Georgia Tech will kick off under the Bobby Dodd Stadium lights with game time set for 7:45 ET on ABC.
Each of the past eight matchups between these two teams have kicked off a noon ET with a number of different broadcast teams and channels. Georgia and Georgia Tech kicked off at 3:30 p.m. ET in 2013. The last evening kickoff (7:45 p.m. ET) between the two programs was in 2010. The Bulldogs won a 42-34 shootout that night as the teams combined for almost 1,000 yards of total offense.
The 2009 game was also an evening kickoff, 8 p.m. ET. Georgia upset the No. 7-ranked Yellow Jackets that night by a score of 30-24 after rushing for 339 yards. That game kicked off at 8 p.m. ET.

Georgia Tech is 5-5 on the season after getting pounded by Clemson this past weekend. The Yellow Jackets had won two straight before traveling to Death Valley with victories over North Carolina and Virginia. Brent Key’s team has also taken down Miami, Wake Forest, and South Carolina State. It is looking to get bowl eligible at home this week vs. Syracuse.
The Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 in both the AP and coaches polls but they stand at No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They have back-to-back wins over top-15 teams Missouri and Ole Miss at home. Georgia has already clinched a spot in the SEC Championship game, where it will take on Alabama. It will travel to Tennessee this week (3:30 p.m. ET on CBS) to wrap up SEC play. Kirby Smart‘s program has won 26 straight games and it hasn’t lost to the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta since 1999.
