Georgia got its season off to a perfect start, at least as it relates to record, last week with a 48-7 win over UT-Martin. The Bulldog slogged through the first half with just 17 points but they turned it on with 31 in the final two quarters and ran away with it. Next up is another non-power-five opponent in Ball State, which started its 2023 season with a 44-14 loss to Kentucky. Georgia is still battling some injuries, most of which occurred during preseason camp, and DawgsHQ is providing the latest report, as we know it, below.

Georgia players OUT for Ball State

RB Branson Robinson (knee): The bruising sophomore is done for the season with a torn patella tendon. He’s expected to make a full recovery but won’t be back until 2024.

TE Lawson Luckie (ankle): The first preseason scrimmage was unkind to Luckie, who suffered a high-ankle sprain. He had tight-rope surgery to correct it and is quickly on the mend. Still, he’s probably out for at least two games. A week-three return is possible but week four is more likely.

WR De’Nylon Morrissette (groin): After not joining the team until classes started a couple weeks ago, Morrissette has been dealing with the soft-tissue ailment. He will be out for his second straight game.

WR Jackson Meeks (foot/ankle): The junior from Alabama is currently in a walking boot but is expected back in the next month or so. He’s a big-time contributor for the Bulldogs on special teams.

UGA players DOUBTFUL for Ball State

OL Austin Blaske (lower body): Georgia’s No. 3 offensive tackle missed practice on both Tuesday and Wednesday. He’s unlikely to play against the Cardinals.

CB Chris Peal (turf toe): The North Carolina native arrived on campus in the summer and impressed right away. Camp, however, was largely a wash due to a turf toe injury that has lingered a bit.

Georgia players QUESTIONABLE for Ball State

David Daniel-Sisavahn (turf toe): It was Daniel-Sisavahn who stepped up last season when Dan Jackson went down. He was the Bulldogs’ sixth defensive back at that time. He missed the first game of the season but did get a little work this week in practice.

WR Ladd McConkey (back): It’s all going to depend on how McConkey feels on Friday and Saturday. He didn’t play last week but he has practiced all week without contact. He’s dealing with back spasms, which can be tricky. Odds are that if the Bulldogs were playing South Carolina this week, he’d give it a go.

ILB Raylen Wilson (knee): The former five-star prospect suffered a hyper-extended knee in the first Georgia scrimmage. He didn’t sustain any structural damage and is back in a regular practice jersey during the week. There’s a chance he gets some reps in this one.

UGA players PROBABLE for Ball State

RB Kendall Milton (hamstring): Milton battled through the hamstring injury last week and we expect him to give it a go again in week two. He isn’t 100 percent but he’s getting there.

ILB Smael Mondon (foot): The former five-star linebacker saw some action last week in the Georgia DIME package and we think his role might expand in the second game of the season. He’s working his way back from a foot injury sustained during spring drills.

RB Daijun Edwards (knee): Georgia held Edwards out of the first game of the season and Smart said that he could have played. We fully expect him to get his first game action of the season.
