Georgia football week three injury report for South Carolina

Georgia is off to a 2-0 start to its 2023 season and it’s time to open the SEC Schedule. The Bulldogs will host South Carolina on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET and they are heavily favored according to the oddsmakers. UGA is looking to extend it’s program-record winning streak to 20 games and it is on the hunt for its 21st straight win at home. It’ll have to overcome a myriad of injuries to make that happen and below, DawgsHQ is sharing the full report, as we know it.
Georgia players OUT for South Carolina
RB Branson Robinson (knee): The bruising sophomore is done for the season with a torn patella tendon. He’s expected to make a full recovery but won’t be back until 2024.
TE Lawson Luckie (ankle): The first preseason scrimmage was unkind to Luckie, who suffered a high-ankle sprain. He had tight-rope surgery to correct it and is quickly on the mend. Still, he’s probably out for at one or two more games.
WR De’Nylon Morrissette (groin): After not joining the team until classes started a couple weeks ago, Morrissette has been dealing with the soft-tissue ailment. He will be out for his second straight game.
UGA players DOUBTFUL for South Carolina
OL Austin Blaske (lower body): Georgia’s No. 3 offensive tackle has been dealing with a relatively minor knee injury. It’s one that will likely keep him out for this one but he should be back in the next couple of weeks.
OL Joshua Miller (undisclosed): The freshman offensive lineman has been dinged up since he got to Georgia. He’s currently sporting a big brace on his leg.
ILB E.J. Lightsey (shoulder): Lightsey has yet to suit up this season due to a shoulder injury that he has been dealing with for a bit. The Georgia native has been unable to capitalize on a strong offseason thus far.
CB Chris Peal (turf toe): The North Carolina native arrived on campus in the summer and impressed right away. Camp, however, was largely a wash due to a turf toe injury that has lingered a bit.
S Javon Bullard (ankle): The National Championship game defensive MVP was hurt on Ball State’s first possession last week. He suffered a sprained ankle and should be back in the next couple of weeks. Based on what we’ve heard, it’s unlikely that he’ll be available for Georgia on Saturday.

DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (foot): The redshirt sophomore won’t get a chance to play against his home-state team. He is dealing with a foot injury that has lingered since preseason camp. He’s likely out for this one and at least one more.
Georgia players QUESTIONABLE for South Carolina
WR Ladd McConkey (back): It’s all going to depend on how McConkey feels on Friday and Saturday. The Georgia wideout hasn’t played yet this season but he has practiced quite a bit without contact. He’s dealing with back spasms, which can be tricky.
UGA players PROBABLE for South Carolina
RB Daijun Edwards (knee): Georgia held Edwards out of the first two games of the season and Smart said that he could have played. We fully expect him to get his first game action of the season.
RB Kendall Milton (hamstring): Milton battled through the hamstring injury the last two weeks and we expect him to give it a go again in week two. He isn’t 100 percent but he’s getting there. With Edwards likely back this week, it might be a chance to limit Milton a little and allow him to heal.
DL Christen Miller (neck): Smart says that Miller will be good to go. He had a cervical strain late in the Ball State game but the Georgia head coach told reporters earlier this week that he was “fine.”
TE Brock Bowers (undisclosed): The star tight end is battling multiple minor ailments but based on the tidbits we’ve gathered from practice this week, he’s good to go. Bowers practiced without much, if any, limitation on Tuesday and Wednesday.
