LIVE UPDATES: No. 1 Georgia 37, Georgia Tech 14 -- FINAL
ATHENS, Ga. — Believe it or not, the last week of the regular season is here. College Football comes to a close today for some teams while others will advance on into the postseason. No. 1 Georgia falls in the second category, but the Bulldogs look to close out a second straight regular season unbeaten with a win over in-state rival Georgia Tech. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets are trying to qualify for a bowl game, currently sitting at 5-6 on the season with four of those wins coming under the direction of interim head coach Brent Key.
“We’re on to Georgia Tech, a program I know a lot about. And a coach that I have a lot of respect for,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said in his opening press conference of Georgia Tech week. “Known Brent for a long time. He played at Tech while I played at Georgia. We played against each other. And we spent some summers together. And I have a lot of respect for him as a coach. You know, he was the O-line coach at Alabama one of the years we played them. And they did a really good job. His offensive lines are always physical, get after it. There’s a lot of familiarity with their staff, with ours, Chip Long, Chaney, and all the guys that have been over there. And so, they’re playing really well now. They’re playing really hard now. And I think he’s done a tremendous job at getting these guys to compete.”
In 115 all-time meetings between these two teams, Georgia holds a 69-41-5 advantage including four straight since a loss in Kirby Smart’s first season on the job. The Bulldogs won 45-0 last year in Atlanta. This will be Georgia Tech’s first trip to Athens since 2018 with the 2020 game being cancelled due to COVID-19. Georgia will recognize its seniors on the field before the game. A list of the 22 Senior Day participants can be found here.

Pregame
- NFL Hall of Fame inductee Richard Seymour leading the Sanford Stadium crowd in calling the Dawgs, wearing his gold jacket of course…
- Not a huge crowd on hand today at all (or an incredibly late arriving one)
- STORY – Couple of notes from Georgia’s pregame warm ups today: 1) AD Mitchell is dressed out and went through warm ups and 2) Did not see Arik Gilbert out there at all. Feel certain both will be addressed today with Kirby Smart after the game, regardless of whether or not we see Mitchell actually play.
- STORY – Here’s how the Dawgs will line it up today based on the depth chart listed on the press box flip cards.
