The most successful mascot in Georgia history, Que, also known as Uga X, has passed away. According to a press release from UGA Sports Information, the 10-year-old canine passed away peacefully in his Savannah home on Tuesday morning.

“Things will be a little different around the house for a while,” said Charles Seiler.  “Que traditionally starts barking for his breakfast around 5:30 a.m.  This morning, Boom waited until 6:00 a.m. to let us know he was ready for his breakfast so he’ll be a little later each day.”

Born on May 23, 2013, Que was the official Bulldog mascot for back to back National Championships in 2021 and 2022. He was unable to make the trip to Los Angeles as Georgia throttle TCU 65-7 to win the 2022 National Championship. He compiled a record 91-18 during his time at Georgia and presided over seven New Year’s Six appearances for the Bulldogs. His career on November 21, 2015 during a collaring ceremony as Georgia took on Georgia Southern.

Que officially passed the torch to Boom, aka Uga XI, at G-Day in 2023 in an official collaring ceremony at Sanford Stadium. The Uga lineage dates back to 1956 under owners Frank and Cecelia Seiler. Charles now handles the bloodline that has partnered with UGA for almost 70 years.

Typical life expectancy for the English Bulldog breed is 10 years although certain dogs can live longer than that depending on their quality of life. Que tipped the scales at around 50 pounds and stood approximately one-foot tall. He handled countless photo opportunities with those close to the program over the years.

The Uga mascot donned the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine back in 1997. It was also voted as College Football’s No. 1 mascot in 2019, an honor that came under Que’s reign.
